The Pew Research Center recently released a study entitled "Social Networking Sites and Our Lives" that assesses how social media impact society. The research covers a broad scope of social interaction that social media impact, including findings that users of social media are, generally speaking, more trusting than non-users. The research also points to differences in political involvement. Internet users were found to be more than twice as likely to attend a political rally; social media users in general were more likely to vote; and Facebook users specifically were more likely to try and influence someone else's vote.
